Armand Morin Spamming Google
It Was Just A Matter Of Time...
By Trina L.C. Schiller
Being that I have long ago resigned myself to giving up on e-mail marketing, since the spammers of the day have rendered it practically useless, I have become a champion of RSS. RSS presents us all with an awesome tool for communication, publication and presentation without having to rely on e-mail, without spam complaints, or legal compliance to ineffective statues handed down by the, Almighty US government. RSS is a powerful alternative, and is now the current rage among marketers. I am personally very happy to see the shift in the trend.

However...
now that RSS has reached the mainstream, the gurus have flocked to capitalize on it. This in itself is not a bad thing, as we all strive to make money online, but they have really done nothing more than to confuse people about what RSS is, and worse; Armand Morin has gone and created software that will render the use of RSS for marketing useless. That's right, I said useless.
His new software [Blog Power] effectively spams the search engines with pages full of keywords, without relevant content to back them up. And once Googlebots get wise to it, blacklists will be created.
Armand's software is not a revolutionary tool, it is a cheat! A cheat that will have devastating effects on legitimate feed publishers. Just as legitimate business owners have suffered under the CAN-Spam Act.
Creating legitimate RSS feeds (blogs) is a terrific way to generate traffic to your business, but this nice little cheat of his is going to ruin that for everyone, if it is used.
And what is the benefit of injecting link after link of keyword rich pages that contain no real content anyway? Your customer will click on that link and find nothing useful. Your stats may grow, but will your sales? No. They won't. The reason being that they [potential customers] will be taken to nonsense pages of keywords, not to pages that sell your product.
As a customer, I would look at that and feel cheated. My time has just been wasted by being directed to a web page filled with everything but the solution to my problem. Furthermore, this kind of search engine spamming will decrease the value of Google in the minds of the public. That is something Google won't tolerate, and guess who ends up suffering in the end? You do. Getting your domain banned from Google is like shooting yourself in not one foot, but both feet.
Congratulations Armand! You have successfully created software that will not only frustrate customers, make webmasters look stupid, but will also get them banned from search engines too! Way to go!

directory generator is just that, it is wholly ineffective as a markteting tool
Hi Mac!
Actually, I had not heard of the Directory Generator until you asked. I did, however, try to take a look at it, but for some reason, every time I try to open the site, I am refused a connection. I don't know if it is my machine, ISP, or that I've been banned from his domain.
If I do get the chance to review it, I will post it here.
Most of Armand's products a quite good. I just have a problem with the spamming of search engines with nonsense pages. And, as we must remember, Armand didn't create this one [blog power], he just promoted it as his own. ;)

Hi Trina...
Many thanks for your reply...
OK it's BlogPower.
It the eyes you know ;>)
So do you have any opinion or feedback on - 'Directory Generator' ?
Which as far as I can make out from his sales page does something similar ?
The software that I am speaking of in this article is Blog Power. Please read the rest of the comments on this post Mac.
Hi Trina...
I have just become aware of Armand Morin's range of software.
Your warning post above does not say what the name of the product in question is, does it ?
And as I'm considering buying 'Directory Generator'
It would be useful to know if this is the offending software you are alluding too ?
I cant see the point of writing your post, unless you are going to be brave enough to name the product !
Otherwise your post will just put people off all of Armand Morin products, without qualification.
Unless this is your intention !
How ironic, the post is about spammers hurting the common good, (and web search), with keywords and links, and the previous comment is link spam.
I'm sick of the keyword spamming!!!!
I decided to spend the afternoon writing a blog about the topic. Hopefully by empowering enough people we can weed out the unethical designers in our ranks.
Visit: http://www.aboutawebsite.co... for the full article.
Let's get their sites banned!!!
Thanx Paul. It is nice to know that there are those who didn't miss the point I was trying to make. Over on the SEO Chat forum, I have been accused of being Armand's jilted lover. LMAO! It seems the folks over there support blog spamming.
I would really hate to see a few bad apples spoil the bunch. That's why I am so bent about this type of software.
Trina, I've been following your thread over at HowTo and find it surprising how most people simply don't get the point of what you wrote. They'd rather try and discredit you.
I thought BP was Armands too since he was talking about it on the video like it was one of his kids. IMO, if someone promotes something with such zeal, they're making it their own by associating their name with it.
It's like Phil Wiley once said: "Some of the guru's would set their own grandmother on fire if they thought people would pay to watch her burn."
I agree.
You all may find this to be interesting reading...

This article has drawn some fire in other arenas due to the fact that I have pointed my finger at Armand Morin.
Interestingly enough, the main opposition to what I've written is not about the product itself, but over who its creators are.
For the record, the creators of BlogPower are Brett Fogle and Marc Quarles, not Armand Morin. Armand is their Super Affiliate.
I wrote about Armand's participation because he is the one shouting from the rooftops that it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. He has attached his name to the product out of the gate, so he received the heat.
I have nothing against Armand at all. He has produced some great products in the past, which is why I am taken aback by his promotion of such a bad thing (a cheat).
My problem is with the program itself. It is a cheat, not a tool. It serves not purpose but to capture traffic through deception. Bogus content.
My opinion is that if you want to use a tool such as RSS, to promote your business, then you should be willing to do the work that goes with it. RSS is a writer's medium. It is for content, not pages and pages of keywords tied to nothing significant.
Autosurf programs are the cheat for start page and other traffic exchange programs. I see this product to be along the same concept.
If you're not capable of creating genuine content, either pay someone else to do it, take advantage of articles for reprint, or find another medium to promote your business.
It's like setting up shop as an auto mechanic and then stealing parts from somewhere, to repair the vehicles brought in for service.
Anywho... I do believe I have set the record straight regarding the issue that seems to have everyone in a tizzy. Armand did not create BlogPower, he is the mouthpiece for it.
