KICK THE EMAIL HABIT CO-OP QUESTIONS
GENERAL
Q: What is an advertising co-op?
The idea behind an advertising co-op is to unite multiple publishers to
increase exposure for client ads. Typically one or more individuals will
create, organize and run the co-op and invite others to participate in the
co-op so, collectively, the publishing team can offer a higher level of exposure
for client ads.
Q: How does Kick the Email Habit work?
Cathy Carlton and Kim Bloomer are the founders of the KickTheEmailHabit (KTEH)
co-op. They built and maintain the website and channel, pay for the channel
subscription, url's and affiliate program tools, maintain and promote the
co-op channel, provide the technical support and handle all payments in and
out of Kick the Email Habit.
Each of the participating publishers agrees to post a snippet of syndication
code on their channels and websites to display articles (ads) posted to
KickTheEmailHabit on behalf of paying clients. In absence of paying clients,
the founders either write or locate other articles to draw specific types of
traffic to the channel.
The KTEH founders, publishers and affiliates can sell ads, but all sales must
be made through the affiliate links provided (via instructions) by the founders.
As ads are sold, the founders receive notification and do all the background
work to get the ad posted. This includes verifying the ad, corresponding with
the client, confirming the posting of the ad and ensuring that the syndication
code is provided to clients if they want to post the code on their own website(s).
Once posted, the ad should appear automatically on every webpage/channel on which
the syndication code has been installed. The most recent posts (based on original
post date) appear at the top of the list.
Q: How does Kick the Email Habit co-op differ from email-based co-ops?
Easy.
Ads are NOT sent out in any email format, which means:
* no spam filters to contend with
* no spam complaints to worry about
* no email lists to maintain
* no bounces
* no ISP blocking.
Plus, publishers literally do nothing except install and maintain the syndication code
provided and sell ads. All correspondence with clients is handled by the founders.
Publishers don't have to send confirmations to the client, schedule ads, balance
client demands, or be distracted from their publishing efforts in any way to support
the co-op. The founders post the ad to the channel, which results in
automatic updates to the syndication links on all sites/channels on which the
code is installed. Life is good!...thanks to the wonder of syndication!
KICK THE EMAIL HABIT CO-OP PUBLISHERS
Q: How do I become a Kick the Email Habit co-op publisher?
Participating publishers MUST be Quikonnex publishers in good standing and must
not be active in other competing co-ops. Of course, we prefer that our publishers
also be in our Quikonnex downline, but that's not mandatory.
The reason we require Quikonnex publisher status is so maximum exposure on both
websites and Qchannels can be gained. We do not allow our ads to be published
in ANY email format.
Publishers complete the application ( http://www.kicktheemailhabit.com/PubTerms.htm )
to be approved for participation in our co-op. Once approved, the publisher is notified
and the syndication code is required. Proof of installation of that code is
required before the publisher is considered active in the KTEH co-op.
Q: How is a Kick the Email Habit co-op publisher compensated?
Please see
Publisher Terms for details.
Q: How do I sell Kick the Email Habit ad services as a publisher?
In addition to completing the publisher application, a publisher who wants to
sell ads must also complete an application and meet all criteria expected of
an affiliate. See instructions on How to Become a KTEH Affiliate and How to
Sell Ads as a KTEH Affiliate questions below. A participating publisher who
sells KTEH ads will receive the Affiliate commission in accordance with the
Affiliate Terms as well as sharing in the KTEH Co-op Publisher Share
at the end of each FULL MONTH of participation in the KTEH co-op.
Q: As a Kick the Email Habit co-op publisher, how do I get links to sell
KTEH ad services?
As mentioned above, all sales MUST be made through our affiliate links in order
for the ad to be posted and for the affiliate commission to be properly paid out.
Both affiliates and publishers can sell ads using their own affiliate links
as described on
Affiliate Links.
The PayLoadz affiliate software automatically emails the paying customer, the
referring seller and the KTEH founders when a sale is made, providing instructions to the
customer as to how to submit the ads/articles to the founders for posting to KickTheEmailHabit.
The founders send the confirmation to the customer once the ad payment is received
and they post the ad to the channel.
Q: Do Kick the Email Habit Affiliates or Publishers get to post ads for free?
No, we don't, as a rule, run ads/articles for free for either affiliates
or publishers. First, that would swamp us with freebie ads/articles.
Second, it would dilute the value of ads/articles posted for paying customers.
Finally, it would too quickly push paid ad/article titles down and off the
syndication link list, further diluting the value of the ad.
KICK THE EMAIL HABIT CO-OP AFFILIATES
Q: How do I sell Kick the Email Habit ad services as an Affiliate?
In order to qualify for affiliate status for the Kick the Email Habit Co-op,
you must complete an application and meet all criteria expected of
an affiliate. See instructions on How to Become a KTEH Affiliate and How to
Sell Ads as a KTEH Affiliate on our
Affiliate Terms page.
Q: How do I get links to sell Kick the Email Habit ad services?
Both affiliates and publishers can sell ads using their own affiliate links
as described on
Affiliate Links.
Q: Do I have to use your sales links?
YES!! The links are setup to automatically handle initial customer contact,
provide instructions for ad submission, ensure that proper credit is given for
the affiliate selling the ad, and to allow us to download and automate affiliate
payouts, and ensures that appropriate payment is made to participating publishers
for the publishers share. We will not post ads for sales made by any other means
than through our established affiliate links.
QUIKONNEX QUESTIONS
Q: How do I refer people to Quikonnex as a Quikonnex affiliate?
Instructions for this are detailed in the Members Panel.
You must first sign up as a Quikonnex Affiliate from the Member's panel.
You can send referrals to any channel page and get credit for the referral by ending
that url with /affiliate_number (replacing affiliate_number with YOUR Quikonnex affiliate number).
For example, I can refer prospects to the main Quikonnex site, http://quikonnex.com, but
if that person signs up, I don't get credit for the referral because there was no affiliate
ID to identify me as the referrer. However, if I include my affiliate number, like this:
http://quikonnex.com/284, I will receive credit for the referral.
Again, instructions and all of your referral links can be found in the Quikonnex
Member's panel. Visit the QuikLinks and QuikSteps link and the Your Affiliate Info topics.
Q: When I logon to my Member's Panel, the qname reflected is GUEST not my QNAME.
What did I do wrong?
Quikonnex uses cookies extensively to track who's who
and who's doing what. You need to take the following TWO STEPS:
-
In your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Netscape),
add http://www.quikonnex.com to your Trusted Sites
I don't work with anything but Internet Explorer myself, so the
way I would do this is in an open browser window -
Select Internet
Then Options
Then click the SECURITY tab
Then Select the TRUSTED SITES icon from the zone icons
Then click on the Sites button about middle-right
Type http://www.quikonnex.com into the "Add this Website to the Zone
entry box (Be sure the "Require server verification" checkbox near the
bottom-left is UNCHECKED).
Then click on ADD
- Again under Internet Options in the browser menu....
Click on the Privacy tab. If it's set to high, move it down to medium,
at least while on Q. In that same window, you'll see a section titled
Web Sites ...To override cookie handling......etc. CLICK the EDIT
button. Type in http://www.quikonnex.com and click the ALLOW button.
(If you accidentally click BLOCK, you can highlight the website name in
the Managed Web sites list and just click ALLOW.
Once you have done this, close all of your browser windows and go back to the
Members area again as in the original instructions. You should be able to logon
and see your qname Jeanesholistics in the QName Login area.
Once you get to that point, the Upgrade to Publisher link is right there
below the QName Login line....They wanna make it easy!
If you still have trouble, it's most likely due to firewall software.
Since there are so many versions of firewall software, the best instructions
I can give is to add http://www.quikonnex.com to your friendly sites list
and make sure that the firewall allows cookies there.
If you still have trouble, please contact Q Support for additional assistance!
