Monday, May 26, 2008 was Memorial Day in the United States. That date will be remembered by Bob Culbertson as the day Aaron and Eva gave him $1000 just for being a member of Nexus Exchange!

Bob is an experienced marketer who has been online longer than either Aaron or I have. He has been a loyal member of Nexus Exchange since we first launched in 2005.
Renovation Update
Eva J. Mah

As I type, Justin Ledvina of Shark Studio is creating a new look for Nexus Exchange. John Higgins is waiting in the wings to do his magic on the new script. I am working on transferring and re-working web pages. Aaron is anxiously supervising by phone. To give us time to test everything to make sure that everything is working right, we expect to debut the new Nexus Exchange by March 17, 2008. You will know when it is about to happen because the site will be down for a few hours during the transfer of the database. But we will give plenty of warning before that happens.

So, what is coming, what is staying and what is going?[READ MORE] [COMMENT]

Decisions, Decisions

The new script has been installed, thanks to the programming wizardry of John Higgins. Now, we should be able to flip a switch somewhere and continue with business as usual, right? WRONG.

When Aaron said it was time to change to a new traffic exchange script, I was so excited. When Nexus Exchange was first developed, Aaron had done all of the work and made all of the decisions by the time I got involved in the project. He said that this time I could decide on the features we would have and make any changes that I wanted. It sounded easy enough. I should have known better.
Burst Out Of Your Comfort Zone

So, how many New Year's resolutions have you broken so far? Making changes can be a difficult process, especially if habits are involved. There are several suggested methods for changing behaviors. I have found the best way is just to go for it. Never mind the kinder, gentler, ease-into-it crap. To make a successful change, burst out of your comfort zone.
Absent (minded) Traffic Exchange Owners

Traffic exchange owners who seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth was a popular topic for 2007. I kept checking to see if Aaron and I made the list of MIA owners. Yesterday, I realized that I had nothing to worry about. We hadn't actually disappeared. Support for Nexus was taken care of. The website was maintained. We were not absent at all. We're just absent-minded because we forgot about the newsletter.

We have been unusually quiet this year. In re-evaluating our business plan, we realized that adjustments needed to be made for the growth of ACPeavy Enterprises.
What good does clicking away in traffic exchanges do for you? Obviously, you earn credits to get your site shown to other exchange members. Most traffic exchanges give you the option of trading those credits for banner and/or text link impressions. So a traffic exchange allows you to advertise your business, product, or service with full web pages, banners, and text link ads to like-minded people. And the result of that advertising is ... ?
New Logo, New Look, More Services

Hail 2007! The dawning of a new year makes people reflect on the past and stimulates thoughts of change. We did more than think, we acted!

It started with the logo. Aaron found a fantastic graphics programs and designed awesome new logos for both Nexus Exchange and Cache Articles. Great, but now we had to change the Nexus logo everywhere that we put it. That meant redoing all the banners and splash pages for Nexus. And if we were going to go through all that trouble, we may as well redesign the site itself. But why stop there? We let our programmer in on the fun and gave him stuff to do on the script as well. Talk about busy holidays!
Set It and Forget It? NO WAY!
Eva J. Mah

We are all busy people. During the holiday season especially, we always seem to be crunched for time. Anything that can make life easier for us is a welcomed relief. Set-it-and-forget-it advertising sounds like a great time saver. It would be wonderful to have the task of advertising our business done and out of the way. You won't be doing yourself any favor, though. Rather than promoting your business, you will be running it into the ground.
You see this message often while surfing the traffic exchanges. What is bandwidth, and how does it put a limit on the viewing of your website?
