Sending a QMTP Message
Selecting the Send a Private Message panel on the drop-down panel selector list at the top of QuikView will open a panel similar to the one in the screen shot to the left.
To send a private message to any Quikonnex Member, simply enter their Qname in the top text box, which is conveniently labeled "Qname." Next, click the button labeled Open QMTP to open a panel similar to the one shown in the screen shot below. If you have entered the wrong Qname or change your mind and want to send a message to a different Q Member, just click the Clear Qname button to start over. You can also click the Refresh this Panel icon to clear the entire panel. 
After you have entered a valid Qname and clicked the Open QMTP button, you will see a panel similar to the one shown in the screen shot to the right.
The upper portion of the panel is similar to the initial QMTP panel, but the lower portion of this panel contains the private QMTP Message form for the Quikonnex Member to whom you wish to send a message. The Q Member's real name will be displayed so you can verify your message will be sent to the correct person. Please Note: If you have entered an invalid Qname, the message panel will be launched, but no Member's name will be displayed. Confirm that you have the correct Qname and re-enter it in the Qname field. Below the Member's real name is a field in which you can enter your name, and below that a field for your contact URL. If you have your own QMTP, please enter that link here, so that the recipient of your message can respond with a click. If you do not have your own QMTP Messenger, then please enter an email address or Instant Messenger Identity so that the recipient will have some means of responding to your message. The final field on the form is the Message field. Enter your message here, up to a limit of 1000 characters. If you enter more text than can fit in the window, a scroll bar will appear so that you can scroll through you message, should you wish to edit it before you send it. To send your message, click the Submit button. The message field will clear, but the Qname and the Member's real name will remain. You can send another message to this person, or you can enter a new Qname in the field at the top to send a message to another Q Member. Just enter a new Qname in the Qname field and click the Open QMTP button. The new Member's real name will be displayed and you can enter your name, contact URL and the text of your message. |
