General QuikView InformationThe QuikView Channel Viewer and Bookmark Server is provided as a free service to all subscribers of our Quikonnex Publishers' channels. QuikView makes it easy for subscribers to convert from email subscriptions to channel subscriptions. In addition, it is a personal bookmark server, allowing subscribers access to their bookmarks from any computer.This QuikView sidebar is also the means by which our Members and Publishers gain access to our private Quikonnex Members area. In addition, we have also provided a panel in the sidebar to allow an easy way for anyone to send private QMTP messages to any of our Members and view a complete listing of all Public Quikonnex Channels with auto-subscribe links. Please refer to the Help Tree for more details on how to navigate the QuikView panels. QuikView Access QuikView is very new and we may experience a few bumps from time to time, so please be patient if you're experiencing access problems. As with any service that is Internet browser-based, you may experience the same intermittent access issues as you do in normal browsing. Creating a Backup Using our Export Bookmark feature creates a simple html file on your computer that can be used as a backup and/or imported into any other compatible browser. If you have added a number of links to your QuikView account, it is a good idea to export your bookmarks from time to time, just as with your regular bookmark system. Online Service Only Because QuikView is a browser-based system, no information, files, or programs exist on your computer. That also means that your QuikView account is not available when your computer is offline. Notification At this time, we DO NOT provide an alert or desktop notification system with QuikView. We may provide a notification system at a later date, but we have found that most folks approach channels the same way they do their email. They don't sit at their computer all day waiting for a message. Rather, when they are ready to read, they will check for new information. With our Channel Summary page it's easy to see "what's new" from your favorite Publishers. Please click the Q Channel Summary link in the Help tree for complete details on the Channel Summary page. With Awasu However we have found that using QuikView with our customized, free version of Awasu truly gives you all the options you will need, if you do want immediate notification of new items published in any of the channels to which you subscribe. If you have full administrative rights to your computer and/or are able to download executable programs, click here to add our QuikAwasu to your Windows-based computer. It is a small, powerful, yet user-friendly application which will monitor your subscriptions and notify you the instant a new item is posted. |
